“Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, Sultan Selim the Grim and others like them were mirrors of the Qur'anic madrasas, just as today's leaders are mirrors of today's schools.” “Value the ijazah, not the diploma. Who knows, one day the ijazah may be the one that is recognized, not the diploma.” “Keep studying in the madrasa; very soon you will become an antique.” Whenever we hear the voice of our master Mahmud Efendi (may Allah sanctify his secret) saying these words, we realize that the true school of knowledge and wisdom that will change the ill fate of the Ummah is the MADRASA, and we come to understand the value of the IJAZAH better.
