Something from everything, everything from something…
These are the programs we offer so that our brothers who have completed the five-year madrasa curriculum in our madrasas, or have studied to that level elsewhere, can become more accomplished in specialized fields of knowledge.
Our specialization programs in Kalam (theology and the rational sciences) and Hadith, which we have run until now, grow in experience with each passing day. By Allah’s permission and the blessing of our elders, they continue with great enthusiasm toward raising dignified scholars who act upon their knowledge and will be the pillars of the Ummah tomorrow.
WHY SPECIALIZATION MATTERS
Ahl al-Sunnah, the main highway of Islam that our Prophet (peace be upon him) lived and opened for us, has met various intellectual opponents throughout history, and has protected that highway by giving them the answers they required.
Those who strayed from the path of the Companions in matters of belief and practice and followed their own desires found before them noble scholars such as Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam al-Shafi’i, Imam al-Ash’ari and Imam al-Maturidi, and, in later periods, Imam al-Ghazali and al-Razi.
Thousands of our scholars, too many to name, became the point of reference of their own era, or of all eras, in different branches of knowledge. They opened the way for the Ummah, led it, and stood as a breath of life against its adversaries.
So that today’s Ummah is not left breathless before opponents who are more shallow and lacking in character than any seen in the past, and so that the firm fortress of Ahl al-Sunnah is protected, deepening in the Islamic sciences is unavoidable.
In this context, we as an institution continue our specialization work in the two fields that face the most attacks today, namely Kalam/creed and Hadith. We ask Allah to help us raise scholars who will follow the path of our ancient scholars and carry out this duty as it deserves.
